PROFILE

Sutini Goh was born in Medan, Indonesia in 1980 and while she was a student in Indonesia, she won numerous prizes not only in the piano, but in the electone organ as well. 

In 1999, Sutini came to Singapore to study the piano at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) under the tutelage of Mr. Benjamin Loh, and was given a scholarship to pursue the joint-degree B.A.(Hons) in Music programme between NAFA and the University of Wales.  During her study at NAFA, she was consistently among the top students in her cohort, and was frequently awarded bursaries and grants for her studies.  In 1999, she was invited to play at the Young Pianist of the New Millennium, and her performance was broadcast over the Singapore classical music radio station, Symphony 92.4FM. 

In the subsequent years that she has been in Singapore, she has successfully balanced the role of teacher and performer. Many of her students have won accolades and been awarded prizes in local and international piano competitions, and some have been High Scorers in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano examinations.  

As a performer, she has given numerous public performances, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. In 2000, she gave a solo recital at Chijmes Hall as part of the Music Box event organised by The Esplanade. And in April 2003, she was invited to perform a piano trio at The Ong Teng Cheong Concert at Esplanade Concert Hall.  (The late Mr. Ong Teng Cheong was formerly President of the Republic of Singapore).  In 2004, she was invited to perform in Concert of Romantics ofThe Keyboard in Esplanade Recital Hall.  In December 2006 and September 2012 , she was part of the Singapore team that performed in the Asia Grand Piano Concert at the prestigious Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall in Korea. 

Sutini has also won numerous competitions Internationally.  In February 2015, Sutini won a third prize in The 6th All Japan Piano Concours in Virtuoso Category.  In April 2009, Sutini won the first prize in Category G of the 19th International Young Musician Competition "Città di Barletta” in Italy.  In June 2009, Sutini won the Gold medal in Asia International Piano Academy & Festival, held in Korea.  In January 2008, Sutini won the Merit Award in the grand final of 9th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia. In 2006, Sutini was also given an Honorable Mention in the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition.   In 2002, she was the Top Scorer in her Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) Piano Performing examination, beating candidates from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

In 2016, Sutini was invited to be inside the jury panel for the Asia Arts Festival, held in Singapore , together with Mr. Benjamin Loh, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Dr. Phan Ming Yan and other juries from different countries.

2000

2001
