Sutini Goh was born in Medan, Indonesia. While a student, she won numerous prizes, not only in piano but in electone organ. Today she is an acclaimed competition winner and pianist (with a predilection for Bach, Chopin, and Liszt), and her students have won many accolades as well.

In 1999, Sutini travelled to Singapore to study the piano at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), under the tutelage of Mr. Benjamin Loh. She received a scholarship to pursue the joint-degree B.A. (Hons) in Music programme between NAFA and the University of Wales.  At NAFA, she consistently placed among the top students in her cohort, and was frequently awarded bursaries and grants. In 1999 and 2000, Sutini was invited to play at the Young Pianist of the New Millennium competition, and her performance was broadcast over Singapore’s classical radio station, Symphony 92.4FM.

In her subsequent years in Singapore, Sutini has successfully balanced the role of teacher and performer. Many of her students have been awarded prizes in local and international competitions, and others have excelled in the piano examinations conducted by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).

Sutini has given numerous public performances, as both soloist and chamber musician. Her 2000 solo recital at Chijmes Hall was part of the Music Box event organised by The Esplanade, and in April 2003 she was invited to perform a piano trio at the prestigious Ong Teng Cheong Concert at Esplanade Concert Hall.  (The late Mr. Ong Teng Cheong was formerly President of the Republic of Singapore.)  In 2004, she was asked to play in a concert entitled Romantics of the Keyboard in Esplanade Recital Hall. And in December 2006 and September 2012, she was part of the Singapore team that performed in the Asia Grand Piano Concert at the prestigious Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall in Korea.

Sutini has won numerous international competitions.  In February 2015, she took part in the 6th All-Japan Piano Concours, winning third prize in the “Virtuoso” category.  In April 2009, she won first prize in Category G of the 19th International Young Musician Competition "Città di Barletta” in Italy.  In June 2009, she was awarded the Gold Medal in the Asia International Piano Academy & Festival, held in Korea. In January 2008, Sutini received the Merit Award in the grand final of the 9th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia. In 2006, she garnered an Honorable Mention in the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition. In 2002, she was the top scorer in her performance examination for the licentiate at the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM), besting candidates from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

In 2016, Sutini was invited to be on the jury panel for the Asia Arts Festival, held in Singapore, together with Mr. Benjamin Loh, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Dr. Phan Ming Yan and other jurists from various countries. She was also invited to be a jurist in the International Batam Piano Competition, held October 21–22, 2017. The event was fully supported by the Minister of Tourism of Indonesia, to promote “wonderful Indonesia.” And recently, she was invited again to be on the jury panel for the Bali International Piano Open Competition held in Bali, Indonesia.
